As MediaTek and Qualcomm prepare to release their next-generation flagship chipsets, the Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, all eyes are on the upcoming smartphones set to feature these powerful processors. MediaTek is scheduled to unveil the Dimensity 9400 on October 9, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has yet to receive a confirmed release date.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is poised to be one of the last flagship devices equipped with the current high-end Dimensity 9300+ chipset before the shift to the next-gen chips. This mirrors last year’s release cycle when the Xiaomi 13T Pro launched with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200+, only for the newer Dimensity 9300 platform to debut shortly after, making newer flagships more appealing.
Xiaomi 15 on the Horizon with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Luckily for Xiaomi fans, the brand is already gearing up to release another powerhouse device: the Xiaomi 15, set to debut on October 23. Rumor has it the Xiaomi 15 will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor (or whatever it may be called), positioning it as a strong contender in the next wave of premium smartphones.
Competitive Pricing for Xiaomi 14 Series
Despite using the current generation Dimensity 9300+ chipset, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is priced competitively. The standard Xiaomi 14, powered by the slightly less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra processor, is even more affordable.
As of this week, customers worldwide can purchase the Xiaomi 14 starting at just €650, available in four stylish color options: Titan Black, Titan Blue, Titan Gray, and Lemon Green. The Xiaomi 14T Pro, on the other hand, starts at €800 and comes in Titan Black, Titan Blue, and Titan Gray.
Key Specs: Displays, Cameras, and Batteries
Both the Xiaomi 14 and 14T Pro share a range of premium features, including large 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with a 1220 x 2712 resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the high-quality triple camera setup on both models, co-engineered with Leica. This includes a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens, and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera.
However, the two models differ when it comes to performance and battery. The Xiaomi 14 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra, while the 14T Pro boasts the more powerful Dimensity 9300+ chipset. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14T Pro’s 5,000 mAh battery supports 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, whereas the standard Xiaomi 14 only offers 67W wired charging.
