Following the release of the 5G-enabled Infinix Hot 50 earlier this month, the company has introduced a more affordable 4G variant. While maintaining the same sleek design as its 5G counterpart, the Infinix Hot 50 4G comes with a few changes under the hood, offering an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly smartphone without 5G connectivity.
Processor and Performance
The Hot 50 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, replacing the Dimensity 6300 found in the 5G model. While this limits the device to 4G connectivity, performance remains comparable, as both chips are built on a 6nm process and feature similar CPU and GPU cores. The phone is available in two configurations: 6GB or 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4X), paired with 128GB or 256GB of storage. Users can further expand storage with a microSD card of up to 2TB.
Display and Design
One of the key upgrades in the 4G variant is the display. The Hot 50 4G features a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution, an improvement from the 6.7-inch HD+ panel on the 5G version. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and offer an Always-On Display mode, ensuring smooth performance and convenient notifications. Like the 5G version, the Hot 50 4G also includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader for security.
Camera Setup
On the rear, the Hot 50 4G houses a 50MP main camera with a brighter f/1.6 aperture, compared to the f/1.8 lens on the 5G model. However, the sensor is slightly smaller at 1/2.76 inches. Both models can record 1440p video at 30fps and 1080p at up to 60fps. The selfie camera remains the same at 8MP, providing decent front-facing shots.
Battery and Charging
Both the 4G and 5G variants are powered by 5,000mAh batteries with 18W charging over USB-C. Infinix claims that the battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equating to roughly four years of daily use. For gaming enthusiasts, Infinix boasts that the Hot 50 4G can handle FreeFire for nearly nine hours on a single charge and supports 90fps mode with a 120Hz touch sampling rate for a smoother gaming experience.
Additional Features
The Hot 50 4G offers basic dust and water resistance, though Infinix hasn’t specified an IP rating (the 5G version has IP54). The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack with an FM radio receiver, alongside Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth, and NFC support—an addition missing from the 5G variant.
Pricing and Availability
The Infinix Hot 50 4G is already available in select markets. In Ukraine, the device is priced at UAH 6,800 (approximately $165/€150/₹13,850). It is offered in several colorways, including Sleek Black, Sage Green, and Titanium Gray.
